Blue Istria

Blue Istria INFO

Istria is the largest peninsula in Croatia; its coast, along with countless bays, peninsulas, islands and islets is about 537km long. This part of Istria is also called Blue Istria and it has become a well-known tourist destination across the world. Blue Istria is famous for its long touristic tradition, exquisite cuisine and extraordinary wine.

Pula is the center of Blue Istria, as well as its biggest town. Umag, Rovinj, Medulin, Novigrad and numerous other coastal towns are the popular part of Blue Istria.

Pula is most famous for its cultural-historic values from the Roman era, firstly for the Arena, an amphitheater built to host gladiator games.

Porec is the perfect destination for an active vacation; Medulin is a popular destination for young people in search for entertainment. Tennis tournaments (ATP tours) held in Umag, made it the second largest sports center, after Porec which is mostly visited by people in search for entertainment, live music and dance rhythms. Rovinj is known as one of the most romantic places on the entire Mediterranean and contains a wonderful baroque church of St. Eufemia.
