Kozino

Tourist destination info Kozino

Kožino is a village located 10 km north of Zadar, between Dikla and Petričane, offering a large number of modern, fully equipped villas and apartments. It is well connected with the surrounding area. The local population in Kožino engages in agriculture, mostly cultivating vines and olive trees. It is an ideal destination for those who want to spend a quiet family holiday. Here you will find beautiful pebble and sand beaches with clear waters and surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation. The most valuable cultural and historical monument to visit in Kožino is the parish church of St. Michael, built in the second half of the 16th century.  Sports enthusiasts can try their hand at tennis, table tennis, beach volleyball, football, handball, basketball, water skiing, surfing, sailing, rafting on river Zrmanja and hiking on the Velebit mountain. As with all small towns in Dalmatia, Kožino organizes numerous festivals during July and August where a number of local specialties and wines are offered followed by good local music. Enjoy the delicacies of the Dalmatian region in the restaurants  "Tony" and "Kristina". Try the fish dishes, ham, cheese, lamb and excellent local wines.

Kozino is located near the national parks: Krka (famous for the natural phenomenon of travertine barriers on Skradinski waterfall and Roski waterfall), Kornati (many islands suitable for tourists in search of a Robinson style of vacation) and Paklenica ( beautiful canyons in which tourists spend a more active vacation by hiking). Be sure to visit Zadar, Nin and Sibenik.

Zadar is a town of exceptional history and remarkably valuable cultural heritage. It is one of the most popular Croatian tourist destinations, named as the “entertainment center on the Adriatic” by the London Times, and the “new cool capital” by the Guardian. You can see the sea organ in Zadar, which offer an interrupted concert of mystical tones of the “Nature orchestra”, as well as Salute to the Sun, National Square, Five Wells Square, the silver and gold of Zadar, Forum, Fosa, Kalelarga and the antique glass museum Zadar. Visit different historical monuments such as: St. Donat church, St, Stosia Cathedral, St. Sime church, St. Mary church and convent, St. Frane church and convent, town walls, forts and gates, St. Krsevan church and numerous others.

Sibenik is the oldest self-developed town, located on the delta of the river Korana. It is famous for its numerous historical sites such as: St. Mihovil fort, St. Nikola fort, St. ivan fort, Subicevac fort, St. Jakov cathedral, St. frane church, St. Dominik church and 4 wells. Visit its museums and galleries (museum of the town of Sibenik, Madrigal gallery, St. Krsevan gallery and AG gallery) and get to know at least a bit of its past. Besides the historical sites and numerous museums and galleries, Sibenik is also known for its summer manifestations such as: International children’s festival, sibenik night, Evenings of Dalmatian songs, Organ summer school and the Sibenik cultural summer.

Nin is a small town in the Zadar County with only 1500 inhabitants. The center of this town is a small island ( 500m in diameter) connected to the mainland by two bridges. It is famous for its rough past to which countless monuments testify, such as: St. Cross church ( “The smallest cathedral in the world”), St. Jakov church, St. Anselmo cathedral, the remains of the biggest roman temple on the east coast of the Adriatic, duke Branimir’s monument, Kraljevac square with a well, Statue of bishop Gregory of Nin, the coronation church St. Nikola, Lower town gates and the stone bridge. See the natural beauties of this area : Nin bay, the delta of Ricina, nature park “Solana Nin”, Nin harbor and the promenade.
