The Plitvice Lakes are the most renowned national park in Croatia, and is also one of the most beautiful sites of nature in all of Europe. With the abundance and grandeur of the water, the thundering of the many water falls, the power of nature leaves all of our guests in awe when they experience the Plitvice Lakes. They are located at the spring of the river Korane, at an altitude of 480 to 636m, between the mountains Mala Kapela and Ličke Plješevice.

The Plitvice lakes comprise of 16 terrace like lakes, all interconnected by waterfalls, and kilometres of wooden bridges and forest paths allow for a close encounter with the lakes. Nature creating waterfalls, with forests and plant life of the national park and wild life in the waters and around them, thrill all of our guests every year. Between the partitions in the lakes, beautiful waterfalls occur in a special way that nature has allowed for thousands of years. Calcium deposits that have collected at the bottom of the lakes and sunken objects create natural barriers, that rise above water level, constantly grow higher and wider, creating spectacular waterfalls. The great variety of natural configurations brought the National park to be on the UNESCO "World heritage list".

More the three quarters of the park are covered with forests, where the most abundant are the beech and fir trees. With a wide array of fauna, the most famous tenants are the bear and wolf. In the park there are more then 140 registered species of birds, 70 of which stay year round. The unique beauty of the lakes and waterfalls, walking through the forests paths, and wooden bridges, comforts of the hotels and restaurants with domestic specialties, and a convenient location between Zagreb and Dalmatia, draw guests throughout the year.

There are two entries into the park where visitors can get all the necessary information and buy their ticket, of which proceeds go to the continuous upkeep and preservation of the Plitvice lakes.

You can get to the Plitvice lakes from the highway D-1 arriving from Zagreb (134 km), Split (250 km), Rijeka (195 km).
