What to see?

City Walls - one of the most monumental fortification monuments in Europe. Their total length is 1940 meters, together with its five defensive towers makes it a must-see. The walls surround the town in the shape of an irregular polygon.

Orlando's column - stands a figure of a medieval knight with a sword, a typical Gothic smile on his face, who was the alleged nephew of Charlemagne. It was built in the 15th century as a symbol of freedom and national independence. Even today during the Dubrovnik Summer Festival on the column a flag with the inscription Libertas (freedom) is hung.

Palace Sponsa - the most outstanding example of Gothic-Renaissance style of architecture specific for Dubrovnik. This is where the State Archives are kept, as well as documents from 12.st, so you can see how Dubrovnik developed its political, trade and economic ties with the rest of Europe.

Prijeko street - According to the development plan laid down by the City statute from 1272, the area of Prijeko consists of 14 steep streets in a regular pattern leading from the shady hill slope towards Placa, and a row of houses with picturesque portals, balconies and windows in Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque style.

Lovrijenac - located outside the city walls on a canopy that rises on a 37m high cliff. It can be reached from the sea shores, "u Pilama", climbing up a wooded path. Dubrovnik built a fortress to protect the western sea approach to the city, particularly because of the Venetian fleet.
