Kastel Luksic

Tourist destination info Kastel Luksic

Kaštel Lukšić is one of the seven Kaštel's between Trogir and Split. The town is settled in a very rich flatland and used to be called Kaštel Vitturi after the noble family from Trogir which developed it at the end of the 15th century. In Kaštel Lukšić you can see many cultural monuments such as the church of St. John Birnj, the Vitturi castle which holds the city museum, the Our Lady of the Assumption church, the Vitturi park, Kaštel Tataglia and others. The beaches of the Kaštela region combine into a 6km long string of bays and bathing areas which are shaded by pine trees and tamaris. Every year from July 1st to august 31st, the “Kaštela Cultural Summer” festivities are held which consists of 60 different events: theatre plays, photography exhibits, popular and classical music concerts, folklore, sports competitions and various fishing and hunting festivities. Culinary enthusiasts can enjoy the specialties of this are in the restaurants “Adriatic”, “Villa Cezar” and “Duje.” Those in search of a peaceful vacation will enjoy Kaštel Lukšić, while those in search of more energetic entertainment can visit nearby Trogir, Split and Omiš.

Trogir is well known for its cultural and historical heritage and also has the nickname “Little Venice.” Visit the city museum, the city lodge, city gates and walls, count’s palace, Ćipiko palace, the cathedral and many others. The city itself is located on a small island in the narrow passage between the mainland and island to which it is connected by bridges.

Split is a city which lives in a slow rhythm which is easy to get used to. The city’s squares, cafes, restaurant and promenades are always full like it’s a holiday every day. This city will wow you with its historical monuments. Take some time to visit Diocletian’s palace – the heart of the city, the promenade, Iron Gate, statue of Gregory of Nin, St. Francis church, St. Duje cathedral, St. Peter’s cathedral and others.

Omiš is a Mediterranean style city located at the mouth of the Cetina river. It is famous for its turbulent history which is evident in its various monuments such as the following: Mirabela and Fortica fortresses, parish church of St. Michael, Franciscan monastery, church of St. Peter, church of the Holy Ghost, church of St. Rocco, Illyrian seminary, city museum, old cemetery, medieval city center, the pole of shame, old city lodge and many others. Sports and recreation enthusiasts can enjoy rafting on the Cetina river, free climbing, wind surfing, swimming marathon, beach volleyball and others.

Kastel Luksic is a very nice town, there are basic shops and bars. During the month of August they do a lot of concerts and festivals of all kinds. The beach is not very long, shingle but convenient (it&;lsq;uo;s also really close to the apartment) Nearby there are a few restaurants. A walk is in Kastel Kambelovac and is called Baletna Skola. Another is in Kastel Novi and the Intrada, very popular for dinner you have to book in advance. Also in Kastel Novi there well as Skullcap restaurant also good. The Kastela coast is 14 km long and is everything from supermarkets to pharmacies. If I can recommend a beach in addition to those of Kastela, I suggest you go on the island of Ciovo which is in front, and that is connected by bridges. Or the coast after Split (Split) towards Dubrovnik. The city of Split is 14 km from Kastel Luksic and is a must as well as Trogir also nearby. A bit &;lsq;uo;more distant to the north (the kilometers I do not remember) but always easily accessible, there is the city of Sibenik.
