Marina

Tourist destination info Marina

Marina is a tourist resort and a small harbor near the old Middle Dalamtian town of Trogir. The town is dominated by a picturesque fort, a former summer house of Trogir bishops from the 15th century, restored and adapted into an attractive hotel. The place was mentioned in 1070 as Bosiljina.

The Marina locals were traditionally involved in fishing and marine, but today are more occupied with fishing. There is a small harbor near the Marina core, on the north side of the Marina bay, which holds 120 berths and is very interesting to the boaters. Marina holds numerous historical monuments, such as St. Ivan church (gothic-renaissance shape), St. Luka church (gothic church, in the field not far from the village), a cave with St. Josip chapel (3km away), Church of Our Lady of Snow (located on the hill Drid above Marina, legend says that it snowed there in August), Church of Our Lady of Angels, St. Jakov church and St. Marin church. The beaches are pebbly and sandy and are suitable for family vacations. Numerous pine and olive trees provide a pleasant shade during the hottest time of the day. Those in search of an active vacation and sports can relax and enjoy sailing, diving, fishing, soccer, basketball, volleyball and numerous other sports activities. Gastronomy enthusiasts can savor the Dalmatian delicacies in restaurants such as “Bijeli Galeb”, “Biluja”, “Sesula” and “Sampjer”.

Be sure to visit

Trogir is located in the center of Dalmatia. Its port is preferred by seafarers because of its favorable location and natural protection. It is often named the “museum city” because it is full of historical monuments such as the old city center, Kamerlengo fortress, tower of St. Mark, sculpture of the Blessed John Orsinij, chapel of St. Jeronimo, Ćipiko palace, Renaissance church of St. John the Baptist, portal of Radovan, museum and pinacotheca.

Rogoznica is a small port-town in the eponymous cove.  It is located on a peninsula which divides the cove into two parts, the eastern and the western part. Rogoznica is adorned with two valuable cultural and historical monuments: medieval church of St. Nikola and the medieval church of Blessed Ivan of Trogir.

Primošten is an island town, surrounded by seven smaller islands. It is a typical Mediterranean town which is best seen in its small streets and small stone houses in the center of the old town. It is home to two beautiful small churches: the church of St. George, built in 1485, and the church of St. Rocco, built in 1680. Those who enjoy sports may take part in playing tennis, table tennis, parasailing, jet-ski riding, beach volleyball, mini golf and many other activities.

Split is one of the best known and most visited tourist destinations in Croatia and the second largest city in the country.  It is an eternally young city which lives with a slow pace that is very easy to get accustomed to. This city is rich in historical monuments of which we recommend the following: Diocletian’s palace (the heart of the city), the Iron Gate, the statue of bishop Gregory of Nin, the cathedral of St. Duje, church of St. Francis, cathedral of St. Peter, the main court, city basement, St. Anne’s monastery and many others.

Šibenik is the oldest native Croatian city on the Adriatic, located at the mouth of the river Krka. It is famous for its various historical landmarks such as the fortresses of St. Michael, St. Nicholas, St. John and Subićevac, the Cathedral of St. Jacob, St. Francis church, St. Dominic’s church and the Four Wells. If you would like to further explore the history of the city, we recommend visiting its museums and galleries: Museum of the City of Sibenik, Gallery of St. Krsevan, AG Gallery, and the Madrigal Gallery. Apart from its historical characteristics, Sibenik is well known for its summertime festivities. Sibenik is home to the International Children’s Festival, Sibenik Evening, Evenings of Dalmatian Chansons, Organ Summer School and Sibenik Cultural Summer.

Kastel Luksic is a very nice town, there are basic shops and bars. During the month of August they do a lot of concerts and festivals of all kinds. The beach is not very long, shingle but convenient (it&;lsq;uo;s also really close to the apartment) Nearby there are a few restaurants. A walk is in Kastel Kambelovac and is called Baletna Skola. Another is in Kastel Novi and the Intrada, very popular for dinner you have to book in advance. Also in Kastel Novi there well as Skullcap restaurant also good. The Kastela coast is 14 km long and is everything from supermarkets to pharmacies. If I can recommend a beach in addition to those of Kastela, I suggest you go on the island of Ciovo which is in front, and that is connected by bridges. Or the coast after Split (Split) towards Dubrovnik. The city of Split is 14 km from Kastel Luksic and is a must as well as Trogir also nearby. A bit &;lsq;uo;more distant to the north (the kilometers I do not remember) but always easily accessible, there is the city of Sibenik.
